That's right folks, this year marks the 21st time we've thrown this little festival known as the Human BBQ. For those of you who have been to BBQ over the past 20 years, we hope to see 
you back this year. Chances are good that you'll run into people who you
haven't seen in years, and probably thought were dead by now...
For those of you who have never been to BBQ, through no fault of your own of course, here's the deal: 
Human BBQ features about sixteen or so bands each
year, and lasts from noon until very very late at night. The first six
hours feature
hamburgers, veggieburgers, steak, chicken, and hot dogs on the grill in
front of the building.
Human BBQ is an experience that is really difficult to describe, partially
because of all the diverse bands combined with hundreds of diverse people
creates an environment which is, well, difficult to describe. It is an
event that is both infamous and anticipated throughout the Philadelphia
region. Some past performers have gone on
to fame and fortune (check out the
Archive), while
others have faded into oblivion... All in all,
Human BBQ brings together one to two thousand people for an enormous amount
of great live music, delicious food, interesting conversations, and generally
an unforgettable amount of fun. |
